Doing business doesn’t have to mean doing it alone.
Your journey isn’t just about building a business; it’s about creating connections, finding your tribe, and even building lifelong relationships. We need each other to thrive, learn, and grow.
When you surround yourself with a circle of like-minded women who cheer you on, support you through challenges, and celebrate your successes, the sometimes-isolating entrepreneur life is much more enjoyable.
As a female entrepreneur, you’re already a part of a dynamic and ever-expanding global collective. Within this community of women, there’s endless potential for connections, support, and shared resources.
The challenge? Because there are SO many entrepreneurial organizations and networks available, finding one that aligns with your goals, values, and aspirations can be like searching for a needle in a haystack.
In this blog post, I’m sharing 6 pivotal questions that will guide you to the entrepreneurial community that best aligns with YOU — your personality, strengths and aspirations.
Ready to find your tribe? Let’s discover how you can connect with the entrepreneurial community that’s perfect for you!
What are Your Goals and Values?
Take a moment to think about your goals and values. What do you hope to achieve in your business more than anything else? What are your deepest core values and beliefs?
When you’re seeking community, this is the place to start. You want to find people who align with your aspirations and share similar values so you have a strong foundation for meaningful connections and growth.
What Stage of Business Are You In?
Consider where you are in your entrepreneurial journey. Are you just starting out, or do you have an established business? Are you ready to hire a team? Are you rebranding? Shifting into a coaching role?
Look for communities that cater to entrepreneurs in your specific stage. Being surrounded by individuals who understand the unique challenges and triumphs of your particular situation will provide the most relevant support and guidance.
3. What Type of Support Do You Need?
Reflect on your most felt needs. Are you seeking mentorship, accountability, or collaborative opportunities?
Determine what you need most and seek communities that offer those specific resources. Whether it’s a mastermind group, networking community, or educational platform, find the tribe that can help you navigate those challenges.
Jill Lisi, Owner of JKL Creative Studio, discovered the perfect community in my Brand Breakthrough Mastermind.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of Mallika’s Brand Breakthrough Mastermind, and I can not tell you how this has changed my business in just a few short months. She has challenged me in the best of ways and has allowed me to see my business with more clarity by helping me simplify my services, create a signature talk, and walk me through the next steps in growing my business and becoming more visible.” – Jill
4. What is Your Communication Style?
Take a moment to think about your preferred way of communicating. Do you thrive in in-person interactions, or do you prefer virtual connections? Does your schedule make attending in-person meetings a challenge?
There is no right or wrong answer here, it’s about what works best for you in your current state. Some communities offer local meetups and events, while others provide online forums and virtual gatherings. Choose the type of community that will align with your preferences to ensure maximum engagement and participation.
5. What is the Community Culture Like?
Explore the vibe and feel of the communities you’re considering. Are they supportive, inclusive, and uplifting?
Look for groups that foster a positive and nurturing environment where members genuinely celebrate each other’s successes and provide constructive feedback. A community that’s vibrant and welcoming will keep you engaged and empower you to thrive and grow.
“Mallika Malhotra’s Brand Breakthrough mastermind was the no BS (or fluff) mentorship that took my business from surviving to thriving.”— Julie Guerette, Maine’s Premier Event Planner
6. Does the Community Offer Opportunities for Growth?
Evaluate the pathways for betterment that are available within the community. Are there educational resources, workshops, or mentorship programs that can help you level up your skills?
Seek out communities that provide ample opportunities for personal and professional development. Remember, joining a community is not just about finding support; it’s about actively growing and evolving as an entrepreneur as well!
Conclusion
I know your time is limited, but establishing meaningful social connections within the ideal entrepreneurial community is vital to your health as an entrepreneur. Joining the right group can help you make huge strides in your business — from building invaluable connections, to discovering untapped resources, to inspiring each other to achieve greatness.
As you answer these six questions and search for your perfect entrepreneurial tribe, stay true to yourself. Trust your instincts, follow your passions, and seek out a community that aligns with your goals, values, and support needs. Your tribe is out there, waiting to welcome you with open arms!
