Podcasts have become one of the most captivating mediums available for consuming content, and if you are a podcast junkie like I am, you know why!
They offer a quick and convenient way to learn and explore new interests while on the move. They are easy to access and so convenient!
But for a business owner like you, podcasts are more than just a way to stay engaged while sitting in a carline; they also offer an opportunity to significantly amplify your brand’s reach and reputation.
When you share your expertise as a guest speaker on podcasts that are relevant to your target audience, you introduce your brand to unlimited audiences, skyrocket your visibility and build authentic credibility.
Last week on the blog, I shared how to secure podcast speaking opportunities as well as how to prepare for success once you’re booked. This week we’re diving deeper into your podcast speaking prep and sharing specific ways you can leverage these speaking opportunities to establish yourself as an industry expert.
Podcasting isn’t just about reaching ears; it is a powerful tool for attracting ideal clients. Now that you’ve secured podcast appearances, it’s important to maximize the opportunity to build your business!
1. Offer Exclusivity: Provide listeners with exclusive access to products, services, or events to make them feel valued and incentivize their involvement. This makes them feel like they’ve stumbled upon a gem! They feel valued and appreciated, and it can also incentivize them to follow you on socials or connect with you after the podcast episode. Examples of exclusive offers can include:
A product preview- give a sneak peek into an upcoming product launch
A personalized discount- an offer for listeners of that specific podcast
2. Showcase Your Expertise: As a podcast guest, you are demonstrating your knowledge, experience, and authority in real-time to a niched audience. These listeners have already shown up to hear you and seek your expertise, so your audience is prime! It’s your job to prove to them that you know your stuff, so show off your expertise by:
Providing Valuable Insights. Share insights, tips, and strategies related to your area of expertise like your signature framework or methodology
Engaging in Thoughtful Discussions. Show your ability to articulate clearly and engage in thoughtful dialogue with the podcast host
Sharing Success Stories and Results. Give examples, case studies, or success stories that demonstrate your depth of knowledge
When listeners recognize your authority in the field, they are more likely to become clients.
3. Leverage Call-to-Actions: Include clear, strategic calls-to-action in your podcast appearances. When you invite the audience to connect with you in various ways, you set up engaged listeners to become potential clients.
Direct to Landing Pages: offer additional resources, such as free guides, e-books, or webinars, etc
Invite to Connect: connect with listeners on social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram or invite them to join your facebook group or online community so you can keep the conversation going
4. Build Trust and Authority: Stay consistent! As you appear on more and more podcasts and build your guest appearance library, you will continue to build more trust and authority in your industry. As your audience continues to hear your expertise and insights, they are more likely to view you as a trusted advisor and choose your services or products when they are ready to buy!
One of my key strategies is to schedule podcast episodes to release during a launch period so they act as extra value and credibility.
Make sure to share the podcast promotions and short video blurbs all over your social media to reinforce your authority and exposure!

By leveraging these podcast guest appearances, you can create an exclusive vibe for your brand, showcase your expertise, incorporate strategic call-to-actions, and consistently build trust and authority.
